Country Retreat boarding kennel and cattery

Do we have to book?	Yes, the Cattery & Kennel do book up quickly, - especially at weekends and school holidays.
Where are you?	We are happy to give you detailed directions to us, and you can click here for a map.
You charge by the day?	We open at 8.30 and arrival day is charged as a full day, regardless of the time of arrival. The next day charge begins at 10am the following morning.
May I visit the Kennel and Cattery?	Yes, we welcome visitors. Please arrange a time that is convenient for you and us.
Why are there only certain opening times?	This is for the comfort of our boarders, and allows us more free time with them.
May I come outside these hours?	Only in an serious emergency and only by appointment.
How old must my pet be to board with you?	At least four months and be fully vaccinated.
May I bring my dog in just before closing?	We do not accept first time dog boarders after 3pm and prefer them earlier if possible. Your pet needs time to become settled before bedtime. Regular boarders may arrive up to 5pm.
Is there a discount for long stayers?	No, we believe long stayers need more time and attention.
Can I provide their food and is there a reduction for this?	We will feed special diets provided by you. However there is not a reduction in boarding fees as it actually causes more time and work.
My pet needs medication, will you give this?	Yes, but your pet will not be accepted if in serious ill health, has a contagious disease or condition. Please advise us of all medical problems before you arrive.
Can you collect and deliver my pet?	Yes, arrangements can be made for us to collect and deliver pets back home.
May I bring my pet's special blanket and toy -	Please do! We wish this to be a home away from home but remember we are not responsible for the items.
Will my pet play with the others?	We have different playgroups in which the dogs can have a run and play with each other. However, this is only if you agree and if we think the dog is suitable for a certain playgroup. Playgroups are under constant supervision.
We are camping close by, so can I visit?	Although it may put your mind at rest to see your pet, it will possibly unsettle your pet, and our concern is for your pet’s well being.
Won't my pet be lonely?	The layout of our facility provides companionship and interaction. There is plenty for them to watch, and lots of playtimes and cuddles.
Will you take my bitch when in season?	We believe a bitch in season should be in her own home. We also have to think of the kennel as a whole and of the other dogs that could become unsettled.
Why won't you take un-neutered cat?	We only accept neutered cats for the comfort of the other cats, and for hygiene reasons.
Will my pet be bathed before collection?	Not normally, as the pets are housed in a clean environment at all times, and go home in the same condition they arrived in.
What is the method of payment?	Payment is on arrival by cash, cheque or Eftpos. Sorry, we do not accept Credit Cards.
Will I receive a refund if I come back early?	If you chose to collect your pet early, please appreciate that due to high requests for accommodation, we must charge for all the days that you book.
